On the brink of massive cloud disruption

According to a recent JP Morgan survey of senior IT leaders, IT is on the brink of massive cloud disruption. The survey showed that organizations currently run about 16 percent of their workloads in public cloud environments. It also reported that in five years that number will grow to 41 percent.

Author Bernard Golden says, “The next five years will lead to an industry that looks very different from today. If one accepts the survey results as given, it’s not inconceivable that one or more of the giants of the industry could end up either bankrupt or merged and shrunk in a forced marriage.”
