IBM transitions to Channel Value Rewards Solution

Effective April 10, 2018, Business Partners previously approved for Channel Value Rewards (CVR)- Solutions (Capability and Authorization, Value Advantage Plus) will be transitioned to a single IBM software solution incentive, CVR – Solution. CVR – Solution program terms and conditions supplant the prior programs and take effect as of the effective date.  

Starting with the new program, BPs will need to submit both a CVR-S/SA opportunity number and an eligible CVR – Solution ID to earn the CVR – Solution incentive. This means ANY transaction that is going to be submitted for CVR-Solutions needs to be a registered opportunity.

Details on Business Partner Transition to Channel Value Rewards – Solution

Effective April 10, 2018 Business Partners previously approved for Channel Value Rewards (CVR)- Solutions (Capability and Authorization, Value Advantage Plus) will be transitioned to a single IBM software solution incentive, CVR – Solution. CVR – Solution program terms and conditions supplant the prior programs and take effect as of the effective date.  

Approved CVR – Solutions (Capability and Industry Authorization, Value Advantage Plus) and Product Groups will be migrated to CVR – Solution. Business Partners will receive solution approval emails with new CVR – Solution IDs with their Distributor on copy prior to April 10th. Approved CVR – Solution details will be available in the Business Partner’s PartnerWorld Profile as of April 10.  

Opportunity registration is required for CVR – Solution and integrated into CVR – Software Sales/Sales Assist (CVR-S/SA) using My Sales Assistant (MySA).    Approval for CVR – Solution is automatic when submitted for CVR-S/SA eligibility and is independent of CVR-S/SA brand family approval. All Distributor purchase orders to IBM as of April 10th which the CVR – Solution incentive is requested must include both the CVR – Solution id and CVR-S/SA opportunity number. 

CVR – Solution will be processed as a back-end payment when the End User is designated by IBM as a non-Government Entity. Payment frequency is determined by the Business Partner as setup in their PartnerWorld profile. If designated as a Government Entity, the CVR – Solution incentive is passed as an additional discount from the Business Partner’s Distributor. The amount of the additional discount is determined solely by the Distributor and not by IBM.  

Also as of April 10th, CVR – Solution Product Group approval qualifies for CVR-S/SA Product Group approval.    Business Partners Product Group approved for CVR – Solution but not in CVR-S/SA will need to apply for CVR-S/SA in their PartnerWorld Profile.  

Business Partners are strongly encouraged to review the CVR – Solution Operations Guide for program terms and requirements.  The guide will be available April 10, 2018, at the new CVR – Solution website https://www.ibm.com/partnerworld/page/cvr-solution. Additional details specific to CVR – Solutions (Capability and Industry Authorization, Value Advantage Plus) are provided below.

CVR – Solutions (Capability and Industry Authorization) Additional Information

The last day to create/submit a new SVP Solution opportunity registration is April 7, 2018. The last date to create/submit a new SVP Solution – Payment opportunity registration is May 31, 2018. The IBM sales order date must be on or prior to April 9, 2018 to qualify.  

A CVR-S/SA opportunity created before April 10, 2018, with incentive status Eligible Partial Participation, Eligible Full Participation, Duplicate Opportunity Search, or Waiting Eligibility Decision can be can be updated for CVR – Solution eligibility. Business Partners are able to self-select opportunities to migrate for  CVR – Solution eligibility without changing CVR-S/SA eligibility status. Refer to the Operations Guide section Updating CVR – Solution ID Eligibility Prior to Payment Claim for additional details.

Business Partners should only self-select and migrate the opportunity for CVR – Solution eligibility prior to closing the deal.  

Business Partners must submit both CVR-S/SA opportunity number and eligible CVR – Solution ID to earn the CVR – Solution incentive.  

CVR – Solutions (Value Advantage Plus) Additional Information

Business Partners, with Distributors on copy, will receive a Value Advantage Plus Solution ID terminated email before April 9, 2018. The last date a Distributor purchase order with a Value Advantage Plus Solution ID will be processed is April 9, 2018.   

As of April 10, 2018 Business Partners not currently approved for CVR-S/SA will need their Authorized Profile Administrator (APA) to apply in their PartnerWorld Profile for CVR-S/SA in their approved CVR – Solution Product Groups. Once approved for CVR-S/SA Business Partners can use MySA to create and manage opportunities. Business Partner user access to MySA is controlled by the APA in their PartnerWorld Profile.

Business Partners must submit both CVR-S/SA opportunity number and eligible CVR – Solution ID to earn the CVR – Solution incentive.
